Keeping Fit on Your Puerto Pollensa Villa Holiday

Majorca may be known for its vibrant party towns and bucket and spade holidays, but if you choose to take a villa holiday in Puerto Pollensa then you're likely to discover a very different side to the island. Decked out with rows of evergreen pine trees Puerto Pollensa is the perfect destination for a more active villa holiday.

Pine Tree Walk

The exclusive area of Pine Walk is well known for its rich clientele and some of Puerto Pollensa's more luxury villas. However, there are also some breathtaking walks that can be taken around the area, making it a perfect destination for would-be ramblers and families after a more active type of holiday. There are a number of different treks and trails that can be taken in the pine walk region. These start at the slower paced 45 minute Cala Boquer trail, which is perfect for families with younger children and those looking for a more casual stroll. It takes in some of the archeological jewels of the area, including the Possessio De Boquer, a group of important nave style constructions. More experienced ramblers can take a longer hike lasting five hours and thirty minutes; this longer trek starts at the old route in Pollenca Cami Vell de Lluc and takes in Saint Jordi's monument.

Cycling Holidays

Whilst on a Pollenca villa holiday you should make the time to take part in one of the countries' favourite past times: cycling. Majorca is known for its incredible range of cycling holidays and of all the places on the island to indulge in this experience the best is Puerto Pollensa. There are a number of local companies offering bike hire in this area and, as you will find on your Puerto Pollensa villa holiday; this is because the destination has one of the country's best cycle paths stretching all the way to Alcudia. The destination mainly attracts cyclists during the winter months when the mild weather and stunning scenery makes it the perfect cycling destination.

Sailing in Puerto Pollensa

Pollenca villas attract would-be yachtsmen year round, who are drawn to the calm blue waters of the Balearic Sea and see it as the perfect destination for a sailing holiday. You may be lucky enough to own your own yacht and may even have a skipper handy, but if not then don't worry as both of these can be hired from the local marina. There are plenty of options for boat hire, ranging from sleek speed boats to classic yachts.

Scuba Diving

If Puerto Pollensa villa holidays attract yachtsmen due to the azure blue waters of the area, then it's of no surprise that the area attracts scuba divers for very much the same reason. The main scuba diving centre of the area is located on Port de Pollenca, just two streets away from the beach. You can arrange to take part your PADI certification whilst on your Pollenca villa holiday, or if you are after something a little less academic then you can take part in a supervised dive and spot some of the islands exotic fish life.
